11月15日上午，IEEE-PELS主席，IEEE FELLOW Don Tan博士應阮新波副院長的邀請訪問伟德 官网電氣工程系，并在智能樓四樓報告廳作了題為“A Quarter Century of IEEE Power Electronics Society”的學術報告。報告會由阮新波副院長主持，電氣系老師和研究生積極參加了報告會。

報告中，Don Tan博士首先介紹了電力電子學科的發展曆程以及回顧了IEEE-PELS學會成立25周年來發展曆程和所取得的成就。Don Tan博士對電力電子的未來發展和研究方向進行了展望。在報告最後，Don Tan博士還以自己豐富的人生閱曆給在座師生在求學教學道路和未來職業發展道路提了幾點建議，鼓勵大家積極參與國際學術組織與交流，在座的師生都從中受益匪淺。學術報告在熱烈的掌聲中結束。

Don Tan博士簡介：

Dr. Tan is President of IEEE Power Electronics Society and Senior Staff Manager and Distinguished Engineer, Northrop Grumman Corporation. He is responsible for both control electronics and power converters product development. His portfolio is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. He earned his Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology and is an IEEE Fellow. He is an recognized authority in space power management systems. Don has served in many leadership positions within the power electronics society and is the recipient of numerous prestigious professional awards.
